PETE MOLINARI, “TODAY TOMORROW AND FOREVER”
Pete Molinari’s an English guy from an Italian and Maltese family who came to Nashville and recorded with the Jordanaires (Elvis’ original backup singers– they’re kind of like the white Gospel version of the Harlem Globetrotters) backing him up and Chris Scruggs (Earl’s grandson– but he plays so well, I really don’t even need to mention his lineage) on pedal steal. When you start mixing in that many factors, you know you’re either going to get an absolute disaster that sounds like you crashed an 18-wheeler hauling two trailers full of illegal immigrants into the alter of a 10,000 seater suburban megachurch, or something really fucking amazing. Well, this turned out to be something really fucking amazing.
Pete worked with Adam Landry to record the “Today, Tomorrow and Forever” EP with four classic country covers and there is a full album on the way soon.
